Bournemouth is proud of it’s blue flag beaches and Kidzone scheme where lost children are quickly united with their families. This initiative was then cultivated by Bournemouth Borough Council, who saw the potential of the scheme in helping to make Bournemouth beach safer. Come and join in the fun games on the beach in the summer months |

fun festival is held with children’s entertainers guaranteed to put a smile
on the children’s faces. |

For those unfamiliar
with the Kidzone scheme it is very simple to use. You just collect your free
wristband from the seafront and then sit between the Kidzone markers. The
wristband assists the seafront staff to spot and relocate children who have
wandered away. Orange sun is for Alum Chine. The RNLI Beach Rescue provides 7 day a week lifeguard service May and September |

winter sea swimming club The club formed in 1951 has a membership of 50 and
welcomes competent swimmers of all ages to share the delights and benefits
of this healthy pursuit. The social programme includes various summer events

Bournemouth Reef.. Construction of the reef relies on periods of good weather with calm seas and we are sure you can all appreciate that the weather this summer and autumn has been poor. Whilst everyone has been working on the site at every opportunity and continues to do so, the contractor, ASR Ltd, has now that it may be difficult for them to complete construction this year. Future arrangements with the contractor for completion of the reef are under way | Sandbanks Ferry Sandbanks peninsula is connected to the mainland by an isthmian road and sandy beach, which give properties along it, spectacular views of Poole harbour on one side, and Bournemouth Bay on the other. Though the official name of the Bay is Poole Bay, to most visitors, locals & the national Press "Bournemouth Bay" is the name most commonly used. actually invented the modern beach hut over 100 years ago and boasts the

Upper and Central Pleasure Gardens
Until the beginning of the nineteenth
century this area comprised vegetated slopes and a marshy valley bottom.
Development took place after 1840 under the influence of Decimus Burton
(architect to the Meyrick Estate), in 1859 the Meyrick Estate granted a lease for the area to the south of the square to be
developed as a public pleasure ground. Between 1864 and 1872 leaseholds of
the Upper and Central Pleasure Gardens were granted by the Durrant and
Meyrick Estate

Boscombe
Bournemouth land train.
A popular way to get around
the more popular tourist ahead of Bournemouth is by taking a ride on the
well known land train, which runs between Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers and
between Bournemouth Pier and Alum Chine. Along the way, there are charming
views of the bay, the Purbeck hills and the Isle of Wight. |
Bournemouth Fireworks. Every Friday night at 10:00pm until the end of AugustE1 – Fantastic fireworks displays from Bournemouth Pier at 10pm with music from the local radio station.
